PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process by which a polypropylene/polyamide resin composition excellent in mechanical properties can be economically advantageously produced. SOLUTION: The process for producing a thermoplastic resin composition can continuously give a thermoplastic resin composition by melting and kneading in the first step in a continuous kneader a component (A) comprising polypropylene particles having a diameter of 1,200μm or smaller, a component (B) comprising at least one compound selected from the group consisting of compounds having (i) at least one kind of unsaturated group, i.e., a carbon- carbon double bond or a carbon-carbon triple bond and (ii) at least one kind of polar group in the same molecule, and compounds having at least two same or different functional groups selected from (iii) (OR) and (iv) carboxylic acids and the like in the same molecule, and (C) a peroxide, and adding in the subsequent second step a component (D) comprising a polyamide to the kneaded material obtained in the first step.
