PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lowering of image quality caused by a toner reverse transferring phenomenon in a color image forming device of a tandem type. SOLUTION: In a multicolor image forming device, a plurality of image forming stations with photoreceptors as their centers are disposed along a paper carrying direction and respective color images formed in respective image forming stations are successively superposed on the paper to form an image, The multicolor image forming device is provided with a bias voltage impressing device which is constituted of a DC power source for impressing DC bias voltage to developing devices of respective image forming stations and of a AC power source for superimposing AC components onto the DC bias voltage. The bias voltage impressing device reduces amplitude of an AC component of developing bias voltage applied onto respective developing devices with shift from the image forming station arranged at an upstream side in the paper carrying direction to the image forming station arranged at a downstream side.
