PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to easily remotely control various kinds of equipment at homes or business offices which are connected via a network, by general instructions from the outside of the homes or offices. SOLUTION: A remote control system is so structured that a mail sent via a communication line is received, and information about the instructions for corresponding equipment is discriminated from the information included in the received mail, and an instruction command for the corresponding equipment is generated, based on the discrimination result of the discrimination step, and finally the created instruction command is sent to a single or a plurality of the corresponding equipment.
