PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diffuse reflection plate exhibiting improved display quality in the case of being used for a liquid crystal display device by heightening dispersibility of particulates in a matrix transparent resin resulting in improved forward scattering characteristics, excellent light reflection characteristics, reduced undesirable reflection of a background due to reflected light and reduced influence of specular reflection on the display. SOLUTION: The diffuse reflection plate is provided with a light scattering resin layer comprising inorganic particulates dispersed in the transparent resin and is characterized by having the inorganic particulates which are polyhedral particulates with practically no fragmental face, the ratio L/S of the lengths of major and minor axes of the particulates as L and S of <=2, the number average particle diameter of >=0.1 μm and <=20 μm, the value of D90/D10 for particle diameters corresponding to cumulative 10% and 90% from the side of the finest particle size in the cumulative particle size distribution are D10 and D90 respectively is <=7 and with a refractive index different from that of the transparent resin. |
