PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device by which a user can simply back up data even at a visit place, and to provide an operation processing method for the image pickup device, a storage medium and an operation processing program for the image pickup device. SOLUTION: A CPU 1001 detects that a communication cable 1011 is connected to a USB connector 1010 and controls a USB host controller 1008 when discriminating the opposite party is a USB device (slave side) and starts communication with an external storage device 1012. In this case, information with respect to a model and a form of the external storage device 1012 is exchanged to confirm that the external storage device 1012 is a controllable device. When an operation switch 1030 is used to instruct start of backup, the capacity of a memory card 1006 is compared with an idle capacity of the external storage device 1012 and when the external storage device 1012 has a sufficient idle capacity, the backup is started as it is. |
