<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal that senses a fall of a portable terminal body before it experiences a shock due to the fall so as to avoid the shock and damage caused by the fall and to provide its fall protection method. SOLUTION: The portable terminal is provided with a displacement detection means 101 that detects a displacement of the portable terminal body, a fall discrimination means 103 that discriminates a fall of the portable terminal body depending on the detected displacement of the portable terminal body, a protection means 106 that physically protects the portable terminal body, and a fall coping control means 104 that activates the protection means 106 when the fall discrimination means discriminates a fall of the mobile terminal body. Thus, even when the portable terminal is dropped, the portable terminal automatically discriminates the fall so as to avoid the shock and the damage due to the fall thereby protecting the portable terminal against the shock caused by the fall.</p> |
