PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device which is capable of maintaining stable electrifying performance even if induction electrostatic charge is repetitively used and obtaining an image quality stable at all times and a contact electrostatic charge method used for the same. SOLUTION: The developing device for visualizing the electrostatic latent image carried and conveyed on a photoreceptor drum has a toner T which develop the electrostatic latent image to a visible image, a sleeve 41 of a toner electrifying roller 4 consisting of a photochromic material to electrify the toner by contact, a UV ray projector 5 which irradiates this sleeve with UV rays and induces the electrostatic charge of the toner by the UV rays to be cast and a visible ray projector 6 which returns the sleeve of the toner electrifying roller to be changed in properties by the photochromic reaction by the irradiation with the UV rays of the UV ray projector to an initial state before the changes of properties by the irradiation with the visible rays of a long wavelength. |
