PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a matrix type organic light emitting device being easily manufactured and having an improved yield. SOLUTION: A first substrate SUB1 equipped with a field-controlling type thin film transistor (TFT) which is a switching element for an organic light emitting element having an organic layer OGL to construct pixels (R, G, B) and a second substrate SUB2 equipped with the organic light emitting element are manufactured as mutually independent substrates. These are stuck together using sealants SL (SL1, SL2) in which spacers (beads BZ1, BZ2) are mixed.
