PURPOSE: To provide a lithium secondary battery with an improved load characteristic such as a high rate discharge characteristic by optimizing a packing density of a positive electrode mix even when using a mixed positive electrode active material mixed with lithium containing manganese oxide having a spinel crystal structure and lithium containing cobalt oxide, optimizing average particle sizes of both active materials, and suppressing an orientation of the lithium containing cobalt oxide. CONSTITUTION: Lithium cobaltate inside the mixed positive electrode active material is mixed so that a mass ratio X is within a range of 0.1<=X<=0.9, the positive electrode mix is held in a positive electrode collector so that the packing density Yg/cm¬3 is within a range of 0.5X+2.7<=Y<=0.6X+3.3, and an average particle size of the lithium cobaltate is larger than an average particle size of spinel lithium manganate. |
