PURPOSE: A monitoring system moving on a track is provided to efficiently monitor a predetermined area with a small number of CCD camera. CONSTITUTION: A monitoring system moving on a track includes a rail(2), a movable CCD camera(1), and a control device. The rail constructs a track in a predetermined form and provides power. The CCD camera is fixed to the rail and moved along the rail to perform monitoring operation. The control device receives and outputs a video signal of the CCD camera, remotely controls the CCD camera. The rail is a mono-rail or a wire-driven rail. The CCD camera includes a driving signal receiver for receiving a drive control signal of the CCD camera from the outside, a driver by which the CCD camera is moved along the track, a video signal input unit for receiving an image and converting the image into a data signal, a video signal transmitter for transmitting the data signal, a power supply for receiving power from the track and providing the power to the CCD camera, and a controller for controlling each of the parts constructing the CCD camera.
