PURPOSE: A non-dissolvable material separator is provided to effectively remove non-dissolvable materials such as solid and oil contained in water or wastewater by using gravitational settling and dissolved air flotation. CONSTITUTION: The non-dissolvable material separator for water and wastewater treatment is characterized in that a gravitational sedimentation tank(34) is positioned at the lower part of the separator, a dissolved air flotation tank(42) is positioned at the upper part of the gravitational sedimentation tank(34), the gravitational sedimentation tank(34) and the dissolved air flotation tank(42) are connected by a connection tunnel(22) therebetween, a mixing unit(20) is installed in the connection tunnel(22), a partition(32) is installed adjacently to an inlet(36) in the gravitational sedimentation tank(34), a flat plate or tube type settler(26) is installed inside the gravitational sedimentation tank(34), a sludge hopper(30) and a settled sludge drainage(28) are installed at the lower part of the gravitational sedimentation tank(34) respectively, a flotation sludge outlet(10) is installed at the upper part of a dissolved air flotation tank(42) while a discharge water collection unit(24a) is installed at the lower part of the dissolved air flotation tank(42), air coming out of an air dissolving unit(38) is connected to the lower part of the connection tunnel(22) between the settling tanks, the discharge water collection unit(24a) is connected to a discharge box(16) through a discharge water connection pipe(18a), and a height controllable dike(12) and a separated effluent outlet(14) are respectively installed at the discharge box(16).
