SUBSTANCE: method consists in assembling of plates in a stack, compression of the whole stack and sealing by heat treatment, assembling of plates in a stack is accomplished simultaneously with sealing by welding first of the plates in pairs in sections, and then - of sections in a stack, after that the stack of the plates is placed in the casing by means of a vacuum-pumping system, and the casing is sealed, after the inner cavity of the plates stack is disconnected from the vacuum-pumping system a leakage test is carried out, to said end, the stability of the preset level of vacuum processing is determined during a definite period of time, and the pressure is reduced to P=(1-5)torr. EFFECT: improved uniformity of compression of corrugated plates and, as a result, improved uniformity of the grid of intersection and engagement of the points of corrugations at preservation of the preset geometric characteristics. 3 cl, 5 dwg
