<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing cerium-based abrasive particles, which realizes the efficient drying of the particles in a drying process, and enables the uniforming of the cerium-based abrasive particle sizes and the acquisition of a stable abrasive quality by performing uniform calcination in a calcination process. SOLUTION: The raw materials of the cerium-based abrasive are treated in a wet state, molded into raw material cakes and then fed to a drying process to enhance the efficiency of the drying and control the water content of the dried product to <=5%. And/or the dried product is crushed before the calcination process, or dried and simultaneously crushed to arrange the shapes of the calcined products. Thereby, in the calcination process, the calcination of the particles proceeds uniformly. Thus, the irregularity of the specific surface areas of the calcined products can be reduced, and the stable quality of the abrasive can be obtained.</p> |
