PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it is difficult to mount a rotation detecting sensor near a belt and a pulley in a case when a gear receiving the power transmission from an output transmitting part mounted on a part of the pulley, is mounted near the pulley. SOLUTION: This power transmission system is composed of a pulley 4 rotated and driven through a belt 3 and having a flange part 4a for preventing the coming-off of the belt, a rotating member 6 rotated and driven by the flange part 4a of the pulley 4 and rotated at a speed higher than the pulley, and a rotation detecting means 7 producing a rotation detecting signal corresponding to the rotation of the rotating member.
