In a filter assembly for dust-laden gases the bag filters are not designed in the convention round or rectangular shape but wedge-shaped. This doubles the cross-sectional area available for the incident gas flow. The reduced incident velocity results in a better backflushing efficiency. The filtering action is also improved.
