PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording medium showing a superb recorded image quality. SOLUTION: The thermal recording medium has a thermal recording layer containing an electron-donative compound and an electron-receptive compound and a protecting layer containing an aqueous resin sequentially laminated on one of the sides of a support. In this thermal recording medium, the protecting layer formed on a base material with a smooth plane is transferred to the surface of the thermal recording layer and the image clarity (based on JIS K 7105-1981) of the surface of the protecting layer is 75% or higher (the value in a slit with a width of 2 mm). |
