PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an individual authentication device usable even by a user who is handicapped in terms of individual authentication, by enhancing security and convenience by use of a plurality of pieces of organism information. SOLUTION: The individual authentication device includes a first organism information input means for inputting a first piece of organism information; a first organism information checking means for checking the organism information input from the first organism information input means against first organism information registration data; a second organism information input means for inputting a second piece of organism information; a second organism information checking means for checking the organism information input from the second organism information input means against second organism information registration data; and a composite determining means for determining whether or not a person using the device is the authenticated user, using both the result of checking of the first piece of organism information and the result of checking of the second piece of organism information. The composite determining means sets a threshold for use in the identification of the authenticated user, according to a distribution of similarities of the first piece of organism information and a distribution of similarities of the second piece of organism information.
