PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image forming device which can precisely determine the background region of characters and line drawings as a plurality of regions of different properties, and can perform image processing on adequate conditions corresponding to the determination. SOLUTION: In this system, the regions of characters and line drawings are determined, and their backgrounds are determined by distinguishing them into a plurality of different patterns of a white background detector 61, a halftone region detector 62, or the like, so that different image processings can be performed in response to characters, line drawings, or determined background regions. This enables the optimal image processing, based on the correct determination of the properties of background of characters and line drawings, therefore, leading to the improvement of the quality of output images. |
