PURPOSE: A method for measuring consumption speed of unburnt coal in a blast furnace is provided to achieve maximized economic advantages of inputting fine coal through the relative comparison of the consumption speed of the unburnt coal. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step of obtaining a mole ratio among the hydrogen component, oxygen component and carbon component from the component analysis on the fine coal; a second step of measuring the consumption speed of the unburnt coal; and a third step of obtaining an equation defining the correlation between the mole ratio and the consumption speed. The equation is expressed as consumption speed=0.0024xe¬(3.5433x(MH+MO)/MC), wherein MH is the number of moles of hydrogen component of fine coal, MO is the number of moles of oxygen component of fine coal, and MC is the number of moles of carbon component of fine coal.
