PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process of drying and passivating the interior of a compressed-gas cylinder with efficiency, at low cost and in a short period of time. SOLUTION: The process comprises the steps of introducing a plasma gas such as argon, helium or the like into an empty compressed-gas cylinder (70) under pressure less than the atmospheric pressure, and applying a current to the plasma gas in the cylinder (70) from an AC or DC power source (90) through an anode (60). The current is allowed to flow for a period of time sufficient for drying and/or passivating the inner surface of the cylinder (70). Thereafter, the compressed-gas cylinder (70) may be refilled with an inactive gas. |
