PURPOSE: A process of preparing mineral oil-based coating oil for giving heat retaining and moisturizing effects by spraying on plants such as lawn, flower trees, flowers or the like from petroleum is provided. Whereby, the coating oil can be widely used in shining, heat retaining, moisturizing, extension of a growing period of plants and controlling pests and bacteria. CONSTITUTION: This coating oil contains 60% or more by weight of paraffin-based hydrocarbon having a carbon number of 16 to 38 in normal paraffin corresponding to a distillation point, a kinetic viscosity of from 7 to 32 cSt as measured at 40deg.C, residues of 85% during the extraction with sulfuric acid, a specific gravity of 0.82 or more and paraffin-base hydrocarbon of 60% or more and 0.3 to 3.0% by weight of a nonionic-based emulsifier. The method for producing coating oil comprises: classifying under reduced pressure unconverted oil as byproducts produced in the hydrogenation decomposition of fuel oils; dewaxing oils; terminating the reaction; and making fractional distillation of hydrocarbon. |
