<p>A process for the production of amidine derivatives represented by the general formula (II) or salts thereof, characterized by reducing an amidoxime derivative represented by the general formula (I) with zinc in an acetic acid solvent: (I) (II) wherein R is hydrogen, optionally substituted phenyl, optionally substituted C1-10 alkyl, optionally substituted C1-10 alkoxy, optionally substituted C1-10 alkoxycarbonyl, or hydroxyl, each group being present at any of the ortho-, meta-, and para-positions.</p> |
