The sliver drawing unit for a spinning station has a condensing zone, where the sliver is carried by a continuous permeable belt over a suction slit at a sliding surface on a profiled suction body, with a suction tube (18) along all the spinning stations. The profiled body has a recessed zone (35), directly after the release point (36) for the condensed sliver. It is extended as an open gutter between neighboring spinning stations, as an access for a mobile blower. At the sliver condensing station, in a sliver drawing unit, the suction tube body has profiled extensions (34) to form the recessed zone. The open gutter between the spinning stations has limit surfaces to deflect loose fibers and debris. The suction body with the suction tube has two half-shells (39,40), to form the guide structure for the sliver transport belt (16). There is a gap between the half-shells at the recessed zone.
