PURPOSE:To make an air conditioner compact in size by unnecessitating making-up water for humidification and also a water tank therefore, by humidifying a room to be air-conditioned and spraying drain water produced by exchanging heat at an evaporator to a condenser to vaporize it. CONSTITUTION:An atomizing device 9 having a piezoelectic oscillator and a nozzle atomizes water in a water-receiving pan 8 for receiving drain water into fog. The atomizing device 9 is operated by means of a driving means 10 which changes the blowing-off direction of mist. Humidity in a room to be air-conditioned is detected by a detector 11, in response to signals of which a control device 12 controls so as to turn the blowing-off direction of mist produced by the atomizing device 9 toward condensers 6, 7. During a heating operation, as the indoor side heat exchanger 6 serves as a condenser, the nozzle of the atomizing device 9 turns to the direction of said exchanger, whereas said nozzle is turned to the direction of ourdoor side heat exchanger 7 which serves as a condenser during a cooling operation; thus, in such an arrangement mist is vaporized by the condenser. |
