Transfer and stretching plant for metallic section bars of various kind, comprising first, second and third grasping and locking means (13, 14, 15) associated to the conveyer means (8) and the section bars cutting means (10) and the stretching machine (6). Such stretching machine (6) is provided with fourth and fifth grasping and locking means (26, 27, 29) cooperating with said first and second grasping and locking means (13, 14) for picking up and locking the section bar from said first and second grasping and locking means (13, 14) and displacing it on its stretching position of said stretching machine (6). All the grasping and locking means (13, 14, 15, 26, 27, 29) are automatically controlled by means of data processing control means, in which all data relative to the various plant operative steps are entered in advance.
