PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a idle driving prevention device having superior usability, durability, and reliability by a simple constitution giving no effect on the diameter of a housing and assemblage. SOLUTION: A cylindrical idler 20 is disposed in the internal circumferential side of a spacer 18 in a space 19 of a barrel 2 coaxially with an impact bolt 7. The idler 20 is provided with a tapered retaining hole 21 having an opening in the rear end slightly larger than the outside diameter of a disk part 8 of the impact bolt 7 and gradually getting a smaller diameter toward the front and has a C-shaped cross section to be cut in one part in the axial direction. In idle driving, when the impact bolt 7 advances, the disk part 8 is elastically press-fitted into the retainer hole 21 of the idler 20.
