PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a converting method by which density conversion of an image is extremely flexible performed. SOLUTION: When a pixel is defined as (i, j), its density is defined as f (i, j), density after conversion is defined as g (i, j) and parameters regarding dynamic ranges of input and output are defined as fmin, fmax, gmin, gmax, respectively for original image size M×N to which the density conversion is performed, the converting method includes processes to normalize the pixels (i, j) by unit of an area P×Q (P<=M, Q<=N) while transferring the pixels (i, j) by every prescribed number of pixels by a function g (i, j)=Φ (fmin, fmax, gmin, gmax' f (i, j)). |
