PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strain insulator which allows reducing weight, the number of parts and the manufacturing cost and which can be mounted by indirect live-line work without service interruption. SOLUTION: A cylindrical part 31 of a support fitting 17 on the clamp of a polymer insulator 13 and an anchor clamp 14 are integrally formed, whereby they are prevented from rocking at installation of a strain insulator 11, as in the case connected together. Therefore, the insulation can be made easily and reliably by using an insulation rod or the like without directly holding by workers, for example. As a result, installation work can be carried out by indirect live-line work without service interruption, which leads to effective installation work and reduction of working cost.
