An environment influence assessing method for assessing influence of a research theme at a research/development stage upon the environment. This method comprises the step of setting environmental sides which may influence the environment when a research content at the research/development stage is executed, the step of setting a predetermined assessing index for the set environmental sides (y1 to y8), the step of selecting one of the set environmental sides which will influence the environment when the research content to be assessed is executed, the step of calculating the sum of the assessment indexes set for the selected environmental side, and the step of assessing the influence on the environment on the basis of the calculation results.
