<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems in a device for orienting a narrow beam using a phased array antenna or the like, wherein a target is not included within the beam of the phased array antenna and is failed to be acquired, when detection is transferred to the phased array antenna after the detection by an antenna for covering wide areas, which is capable of making width of the beam to be narrower than azimuth accuracy of initial detection using the antenna for covering the wide areas. SOLUTION: Azimuth detection by an optical sensor 8a is performed after the initial detection using the antenna 1 for covering the wide areas. The accuracy of the optical sensor 8a can easily be narrowed the accuracy of the azimuth detection than the width of the beam of the phased array antenna 3 without narrowing its angle of visibility. Orientation of the phased array antenna 3 is controlled and tracking is started based on information of the azimuth detection of the optical sensor. Once the target is acquired, radio-frequency radiation to the opposing target and the tracking by a receiving part 4 for the tracking of the phased array antenna 3, are alternately and repeatedly performed.</p> |
