The present invention represents an ideal solution for those who require multimedia, complete and quick information, at any time and place during the day. This solution, which is entirely based on a Java technology, is the first application for personal digital assistants (handheld, GSM/GPRS phones, etc.), which unifies the feature "platform independent" of Java, with the wireless communication possibilities available today (GSM/GPRS, Bluetooth, Infrared, Wi-Fi, UMTS). In contrast with other applications for handheld devices, no synchronisation is required with the PC, and the news updating occurs in real time, directly on the subscriber's PDA. Specialists in the field of information, such as business men, who are always on move, may therefore use the present solution to have "in their hands" the information they require, without being forced to always carry with them their portable computer and all fittings necessary for the connection to the network. The application is resident in the PDA device, and allows reception and display of new in the form of texts and photographs, in real time, by means of a wireless connection with a central server, which is connected to the Internet. Subscriber's authentication occurs according to the input of a login and a password, and subscribers receive only news that are compatible with their field of interest. |
