PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and an image forming method, by which the density of a toner images is easily and surely stabilized over a wide range of density. SOLUTION: By forming solid patch images on various patch forming conditions (Va, E and Vb) and then measuring the optical density of the respective solid patch images using a paths sensor, the patch-forming condition matching with high density side target density (OD=1.2) is extracted as 'high density correlation data'. Then, by forming line patch images on the various patch forming conditions (Va, E and Vb) and measuring the optical density of the respective line patch images by the patch sensor, the patch forming condition coincident with low-density side target density (OD=0.2) is extracted as 'low density side correlation data'. Thus, optimum electrification bias, optimum exposure energy and optimum developing bias are set, based on one correlative data (Va (2), E2 and Vb (2)) belonging to the product set of the high- density side correlative data and the low-density side correlative data. |
