PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording head in which high reliability can be ensured by reducing the voltage and current at the time of driving. SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording head for ejecting ink from a nozzle through thermal bubbling action of ink, a protruding and recessed structure is employed in the surface of a recording element, i.e., a heater 4, or a cavitation resistant film (protective film) 7 touching ink. Since the heater area touching ink can be increased without varying the heater resistance, the heater voltage and current required for bubbling can be reduced and high reliability can be ensured for the ink jet recording head.
