The invention relates to a subpopulation of the mixed 54B Marans barat breed, homozygote for the barat gene, intended for producing the parent female necessary for obtaining, by its crossing with the male of hen line of mixed red 3B Rhode-Island breeds, the ROBAR SL hybrid hens employed in the production of consumption eggs with pigmented shell, designed for the population. The heterosomal barat and golden genes have a role in transmitting the feathering colour to the one-day-old hybrid chickens which are black. The hybrid young hens have black down on the head and can be easily distinguished from the hybrid young cocks which have a white spot on the head. The line productive features are: 286 eggs per foddered female in a productive cycle, with an average egg weight of 53.6 g and 59.8 g at the ages of 26 and 34 weeks, 1906 g average female weight and 2530 g, the average male weight at the age of 34 weeks; the hens lay the first egg at the age of 144 days; 96 % the youngster viability and 95 % the adults viability, 92.1 % average fertility and 83.2 % the egg hatchability. The poultry of this line are calm and resistant to diseases.
