PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a magnetic pole part layer from being deformed and damaged and to prevent an effective track width from being widened by an electrode layer, when the electrode layer for forming a yoke part layer by an electroplating method is removed. SOLUTION: A stage for forming a second magnetic layer 14 of a thin film magnetic head includes a stage for forming a magnetic pole part layer 14A, a stage for forming a protective layer 33 so as to cover a part on the side of a medium facing surface ABS of the magnetic pole part layer 14A, a stage for forming the electrode layer 34 used as an electrode when the yoke part layer 14B is formed by the electroplating method, a stage for forming the yoke part layer 14B on the electrode layer 34 by the electroplating method using the electrode layer 34 as the electrode and a stage for removing an unnecessary part of the electrode layer 34. |
