PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk player capable of surely initializing an optical pickup by controlling the operation of the optical pickup for a request for opening a lid. SOLUTION: The disk player 100 is provided with a main body 1 for loading a disk, a LID (lid) 2 rotatably supported on the main body 1, a pressing means for pressing the LID 2 in an open state by a spring 4, and a locking means for holding the lid in a closed state by engagement between a cam lock part 5 and a LID lock part 6. When requested to open the LID 2 during disk player, after disk servo stop processing, an optical pickup 9 is returned to a specified initial position (innermost peripheral side), and then the engagement between the cam lock 5 and the LID lock part 6 is released to open the LID 2.
