PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the fall of a recording disk from a tray to place the recording disk during loading even in either setting state of horizontal or vertical setting of the disk, without complicating a configuration, in a disk unit equipped with a mechanism to load a recording disk such as an optical disk and to clamp it at a prescribed position. SOLUTION: A groove 15 with a U-shaped cross section on which both side end parts 1a of a tray 1 slide is extended on a tray rail 3 in a tray moving direction (recording/reproduction position direction). Space parts 17 are formed separately keeping distance each other over a disk holding surface 16a in a recessed part 16 for disk placement in the tray 1 and an opposed wall inside surface 15a opposed to a disk holding surface 16a in the groove 15. A loading operation is performed in the space parts 17 while regulating the movement of a recording disk D in its thickness direction.
