PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image processing method specific to so-called a honeycomb layout which enable maintenance of high image quality even when an image size is reduced. SOLUTION: A digital camera 10 gives pixel data corresponding to a G square lattice pattern and RB complete checkered patterns to a signal processing section 30, a reduction correction section 46 of the signal processing section 30 generates pixel data in desired colors by regarding object pixels as real pixels or virtual pixels, uses the pixel data of the object pixels for representative data of surrounding pixel data and obtains the data having the same substantial spatial frequency distribution by considering green pixel layout configuring the structural image while reducing the number of pixels in each colors used as a whole and a broadband processing section 30c applies frequency broadband processing to the pixel data obtained by the reduction correction section 46 to maintain the image quality of the obtained image. |
