PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an organic electroluminescence device with a black insulation layer having insulation property and light absorbing property, restrained from blot, intermixture, and reflection, having excellent visibility and contrast. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence device comprises the first electrode formed on a substrate 1, a black insulation layer formed on the first electrode so as to partially expose the first electrode, a thin film layer formed on the first electrode, containing an light emission layer at least composed of organic compound, and the second electrode formed on the thin film later. The black insulation layer has two or more of optical density, and volume resistivity of 5×106Ωcm or more.
