PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information signal processor, an information signal processing method, and an information signal recording device, which perform processing like classification of an inputted information signal to record this signal together with discrimination information signal and use these signals to quickly recognize a recorded scene in reproducing. SOLUTION: The information signal processor is provided with a characteristic signal detection means which detects a prescribed characteristic signal from a prescribed information signal, a classification or discrimination signal processing means which subjects the information signal to prescribed classification or discrimination in accordance with a signal from the characteristic signal detection means, and a display processing means which generates a display signal for performance of a first display mode and a second display mode by a signal from the classification or discrimination signal processing means, and the first prescribed display according with a prescribed frequency of classification or discrimination is performed in the first display mode, and the second prescribed display of a prescribed time sequence including the information signal of a prescribed part in the first display mode is performed in the second display mode.
