The sheet deformation process is based on hot deformation. Before this takes place, the reinforcing sheet (3) is wetted with an inorganic non-metallic sealing mass (16) in a contact region (18) near the edge, and/or the base sheet (2) is wetted in the region (15) opposite this region. The wetting mass is in a fluid or dough-like state at the maximum temperature of the hot deforming process.
