The invention concerns novel thickened and transparent cosmetic, pharmaceutical, veterinary and detergent compositions. Said compositions comprise at least a thickening polymer obtained in powder form having been subjected to several washing/filtering/drying sequences. The resulting composition has, in spite of reduced thickening polymer concentration levels, optimal final characteristics and performance.
