BROADCASTING RECEPTION CHANNEL MAPPING DEVICE AND MAPPING CONTROL METHOD IN VIDEO SYSTEM CAPABLE OF RECEIVING BROADCASTING

PURPOSE: A broadcasting reception channel mapping device and a mapping control method in a video system capable of receiving broadcasting are provided to allow a user to easily select and watch a channel that the user wants. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting reception channel mapping device in a video system capable of receiving broadcasting signals includes a broadcasting information detector(21), a judgement unit(22), a controller(23), and a memory(24). The broadcasting information detector detects broadcasting information from video signals. The judgement unit judges the broadcasting information to find the name of the broadcasting station of the channel currently tuned by a tuner. The controller tunes the tuner to search channels capable of receiving broadcasting signals when a reception channel mapping mode is set, and maps the searched reception channels to a main channel and an additional channel using information about synchronization detection with respect to each channel and information about broadcasting station names. The memory stores the main channel and the additional channel mapped by the controller.
