<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component formed of PGM(platinum group metals) material which is used for a compensator for expansion in the longitudinal direction in a device or a part of the device in contact with molten glass and capable of solving a conventional disadvantage, and a manufacturing method of the component. SOLUTION: A tubular member 1 having a smooth wall surface is inserted in a cylindrical forming die 2 having the inside diameter substantially equal to the outside diameter of the tubular member and having radial undulating recesses 3, one set of press tools 4 and 5 for tightly sealing the tube end parts are provided on both ends in the axial direction of the forming die 2, thus- formed space is completely filled with an hydraulic fluid 6, and an hydraulic internal pressure is then produced by exerting an axial compressive force via the press tools 4 and 5 in such a way that the tubular member is shortened and at the same time curved parts 7 corresponding to the recesses 3 in the forming die 2 are formed on a wall of the tubular member.</p> |
