PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a method of manufacturing a cutting blade having strength, durability and a cutting edge being sharp. SOLUTION: In a press process ST1 for manufacturing a cutting blade, a movable blade blank is blanked from plate material, and an cutting edge is provided through face press work of an end face of the movable blade blank being blanked against an inclined face formed on a press die. Since the cutting edge is press-forged, its strength and durability are enhanced and it can be precisely formed. Residual distortion is eliminated from the movable blade blank provided with the cutting edge, through heat treatment (step ST3). Then, after thickness dispersion is eliminated through surface grinding of both faces (step ST5), camber is provided (step ST6). Since dispersion of spring back, etc., can be suppressed which may be caused by residual distortion and dispersion of thickness after cambering, cambering can be precisely performed. Consequently, the cutting blade which has durability and cuts well can be inexpensively manufactured through simple processes.
