PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and a device in which a larger amount of musical programs are stored in a small storage space and audio.visual music accompaniment signals are generated. SOLUTION: An audio storage unit 11 and a text storage unit 12 have plural audio music data corresponding to plural music programs and plural text data. A video storage unit 13 has plural video segments which are jointly owned by the plural music programs. The audio musical data and the text data corresponding to one of the selected music program are retrieved from a recording medium and at least one section among the video segments is successively retrieved from the recording medium. The retrieved audio music data are converted into audio outputs and the retrieved text data and the video segments are coupled so as to capture the video outputs. The audio and video outputs constitute the music accompaniment signals corresponding to one of the selected music programs.
