<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming an image by accurately synthesizing it on a recording medium by using a plurality of solid scanning type optical writing heads. SOLUTION: There is disclosed an image forming apparatus for forming an image on a photosensitive recording medium 4 such as a photographic paper or an electrophotographic photosensitive material. The image forming apparatus comprises a plurality of solid scanning type optical writing heads 20B, 20G, 20R each of which controls on/off operations of multiple optical shutter chips provided in a main scanning direction in accordance with image data. The recording medium 4 is guided at an exposing position by being brought into intimate contact with a cylindrical guide roller 10. Optical passes of lights emitted from the respective solid scanning type optical writing heads are changed by a dichroic prism 29 to expose the recording medium 4 on the identical line.</p> |
