PURPOSE: A composition of the therapeutic agent of B type hepatitis is provided which contains as an effective active seconoganoside separated from an aqueous extract of Lonicerae Flos having inhibiting effect on the formation of a hepatitis B virus surface antigen(HBVsAg), therefore can be effectively used as a therapeutic agent for B type hepatitis. CONSTITUTION: A composition of the therapeutic agent of B type hepatitis contains an aqueous extract of Lonicerae Flos and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt such as a carrier, an excipient, a filler, an anti-coagulant, a lubricant, a flavoring, etc. The composition can be orally or parenterally administered at a daily dose of 5 to 15mg/kg body weight, preferably 5 mg/kg body weight. A cell line forming a hepatitis B virus is cultured in an IMDM medium including 10% FBS, 1% ABAM and geneticin concentrated 400μg/ml contained in a T75 flask for 5 days and treated with 100μM of seconoganoside.
