ELECTRONIC CREDIT SETTLEMENT METHOD AND SYSTEM BETWEEN CELLULAR PHONE AND MOBILE COMMUNICATION PROVIDER

PURPOSE: An electronic credit settlement method and system between a mobile terminal and a mobile communication provider are provided to settle a bill between a mobile terminal and a mobile communication provider even through a wired network as well as a wireless network, and improve a speed for a real-time credit authorization by adopting a direct call method between a PDA(Personal Digital Assistance) and the mobile communication provider server. CONSTITUTION: A PDA receives cellular phone user information from a cellular phone(501). The PDA is connected to a mobile communication provider server, transmits the cellular phone user information to the mobile communication provider server, and requests a credit authorization of the cellular phone user from the mobile communication provider server(503). The mobile communication provider server reads credit information and settlement limit of the user from a cellular phone user credit settlement information database and transmits the credit rating information and settlement limit to the PDA(505). The PDA transmits a settlement request signal to the mobile communication provider server in case that it determines that the cellular phone user has a credit(507). The mobile communication provider server reads an accumulated bill settlement record of the user form the cellular phone user credit settlement information database, settles the bill of the cellular phone user and stores the settlement result in the database(509). The mobile communication provider server transmits the settlement result to the PDA and informs the cellular phone user of the settlement result(511). The PDA outputs the settlement result on a screen so that the cellular phone user can confirm the settlement result through an LCD(513). The PDA outputs the settlement result as a receipt form by a printer and the cellular phone user settles it(515).
