PURPOSE: A device for adjusting valve gap by an electrical signal automatically is provided using mutual expanding operation between ER fluid and piezoelectric device. CONSTITUTION: ER(Electro-Rheological) fluid layer(11) is installed between a cam and a valve which changes its size by pressure change in cylinder. A piezoelectric device(12) is in lower part of the ER fluid layer. As a valve is pressed, a voltage generated in the piezoelectric device changes volume of the ER layer to adjust valve gap automatically.
